I'm 40, so even when I was going to Dania as a kid with my folks, they had the machine betting totes there. Just curious if anyone knows how the betting was handled in the previous generation (punch slips?). I'm sure that computers were in play even in the 60's and 70's to calculate the betting pools and payouts, but how was this handled back in the 30's and 40's? Seems like Miami would need more than 8 minutes between posts to manually tabulate all of the bets... Any insight would be helpful!
