Today, I can see lots of reasons for a great amateur to turn down a pro contract, like maybe to go to college and get a job that pays more than driving a bus.

Jai alai isn't like baseball where you get like 200k + as a rookie.

Pelota will likely be extinct in the USA within 5-10 years.
