Forgive me for going on at length about this, but since most on here know how much I used to love the QD bet, so very sadly, it's done. What used to pay well over a signer on a dollar ticket, often even a $1,000 or more on the dollar just about 4-5 years ago, this bet has dwindled to next to nothing for one reason: it's no longer supported on the tote systems, unless you are physically at Miami Jai Alai. I think if you are at Ft. Pierce you can wager into it, but not sure. So, no one else can bet into the pool anyhwere.

When Orlando first unveiled the new system and self service betting machines, I was so pissed that I could no longer wager on the QD. HIGHLY PISSED. I was told, that the new system doesn't support it, or some hub doesn't, etc. Ironically, THERE IS A BETTING KEY on the machine offering the bet, where it clearly says QUINIELA DOUBLE, yet you can't wager on it. Sheesh. In this day and age of the computer world and such, SURELY the bet could have been so easily added into the programming.

Frankly, this is only hurting Miami. Let's say, on average, Miami's cut from the QD pools (the 4 they offer) totals about 800 a day. Across 8 performances on 52 weeks = $332,800 less they are making.

They added a Pik 3 to no avail. Funny, because Dania's Pik 3 is huge. Funnier, when Dania brought back their QD a few years ago, it never caught on, while Miami's were totaling well over $1,000 in the pool at all matinees.

THE FINAL WORD: If horse track offered the bet, you sure as hell know that bet would be up and running all over the country. In fact, they need to bring it back. I can't imagine how huge it would pay from a horse track if a few longshots came into play. Thousands! Now, that would be exciting, because the QD is very, very hittable.
