Please don't just blow off the question - I'm looking for some creative thought.
There's always an angle - try this one:
Total pool $112 ($1 bet per 3 possible combos)
Net pool $78
There have been 54 games played since WPS betting was dropped.
18 of those had a tri REFUND, so any tri bet with the winning
team would have taken the entire pool.
If you bet 8 combos per game, topped by the numbers 1 thru 8,
you would have wagered $378*
(certainly no logic to betting more than $1 into this pool). You'd
have won 14 uncontested tris, with a total payout of $1404 (plus
some other odds and ends) - more than a $1,000 profit. If the
pools are smaller, the same logic applies.
So, who will be the first to try - or has a different angle?
*Corrected to allow for only 6
teams in doubles games - thanks, Hamilton.
