I agree. Most people don't even know how the betting
works....don't even understand what parimutuel means....but they
are experts on how jai-alai is fixed. The reality is there hasn't
even been an accusation of any kind of game fixing in about 25
years. The idiots at Palm Beach that got caught fixing games after
the strike were amateurs who only got in because of the strike,
not real professionals. So you have to go back 30+ years to find
isolated cases of game fixing in jai-alai. Wonder how many horses
or dogs have been manipulated to make sure they lose during that
time? We've had point shaving in college basketball...so does
that mean that whole sport is fixed? Or was it a few dumb players
not a reflection of the sport? The "Black Sox" rigged
the World Series years ago. Tennis has had tons of RECENT game
fixing scandals. Boxing? Please.
By comparison, jai-alai has been scandal free for over three decades.
Better track record than 99% of the sports out there.
