Goico raising his arms......Really??

Posted on March 17, 2014 at 07:47:34 PM by Forty-Year-Fan

In the 12th game today Goico served to Luis and Luis did a quick throw picada that beat Goico. Goico didn't like it and started complaining right away, raising his arms and complaining to the judges. Goico should be the last person raising his arms.
In the same game Irastorza throws a ball to about the 11 line. Goico catches it and proceeds to take three steps towards to the outside practically pushing Irastorza to the wood. Then Goico thows it inside where Irastorza now has no chance of getting because he was driven off the court. Irastorza gave Goico a look and looked at the judges.
It has to stop. The holding and walking by Goico is ridiculous.
If a player is put into a disadvantaged position he has to throw from that position. He should not be allowed to hold ,take steps and turn it to his advantage. That is called dirty jai-alai.
It's too bad because Goico is very, very good but his legacy will be the he was a dirty player.
Arriaga (Dania) really started this type of holding, but Goico has taken to to an all time high. But he is allowed-- never a whistle.
The only player that was dirty back in the 80's was Zabala. He would catch a right side and stare you down, then throw.
So Goico, please keep your arms down, you are the last one who should be complaining about a players motion.
