I'm not going to go so far to say the record is not correct, after
all this in a small way does help the sport (reputation, World's
Fastest Ballgame). It's possible with the right temperature, a
very hot ball and using the right technique this record was accomplished.
It's true that the Pelota can become so fast it has to be taken
out of the game because of the danger to the players. I recall
Miami bringing out the gun, "The Amazing Danny" can comment (
he was there), I think Goiko's serve was clocked at something
like 140 or 145 MPH...I recall "The Amazing Danny" commenting
on the danger.
When the record was broken, what was the previous record? Let's
face it there have been some amazing records broken and for now
I'll go along with the record of 188 MPH.
I think this is a perfect spot for some players to chime in and
give their opinions.
