There are some interesting 'Nuggets of Knowledge' in your archives, including some comments by Bluto back in 2003.
He wrote, "I will make an exception to always play what I think is even a good player in the 4 and 5 post for singles for a runout. I do this because you can cover 4/13,4/23,5/12/4,5/3/12, for only 8 dollars and have an excellent chance should the 4 or 5 run the game. Even if you dont get a point split, the 3, who gets the serve all the way through a playoff on a 4 runout, or the 4, who gets the serve on a 5 runout, gives you an advantage in singles, if you even need the playoff for the win."
I think that is pretty slick (in the case of a 4 runout) to base a play on the insight that 3 has the serving advantage throughout the playoffs. Especially without benefit of a rotation board to fool around with.
To add to his insight, in general, the real singles serve advantage doesn't come into play in the lowest level singles games. That means that right now at Dania this idea would ONLY apply to game 10 or 13, since 4 and 7 are supers. Even so, I think that putting a chip on 4/13 in every 7-pt singles games where the key player has ANY kind of runout potential is a sophisticated angle, and probably a long-term winner.
