For making Win bets I won't wager more than $5 if the pool is about the size cited above. Place and Show aren't worth a damn outside of horse racing where those pools still get decent action. For the exotics I think that unless your trying to make a (foolish) play for getting multiple refunds on the twin-tri or tri-super or similar multi leg bet than you are wasting your money.
