I think that it is going to take something more creative to increase attendance. Also, when they do come up with something they need to at least look like they want to get the word out. Although I haven't been I hear that Ocala really gets them in on the college nights with the cheap drinks and stuff. Why doesn't Miami do that? That sort of promotion gets spread easily via word of mouth so they don't have to spend any of the five dollars they have in their advertising jar.
Really though jai alai needs to really get creative. Something to spice up the routine. I think that people's attention span is so short nowadays that the game needs the ability to do per point wagering. Don't even bother with the current tote system for the wager. Bring in new equipment so that you can sit in your seat and put in a dollar and press a button for the team you think will win the next point. Have a miniscule takeout and make up for it with the increased volume. People will like having the constant action and even though they will not being winning a damn thing over time they'll be just as happy as if they were in front of those retarded slot machines.
