Preston makes a lot of sense when he talks about
the domino effect, for every one person interested in Jai-alai
they have friends and family that come along with them.
When I ran the Ft. Pierce Amateur Jai-alai Association we had
several different groups of players. Class A,B, and C a female
class and a 6 through 12 year old class.
When we had tournaments open to the public all of our players
would participate so if you have 50 players and they all would
bring an average of five people with them, that's 250 just to
start then the couple of dollars we would charge for admission
would go to a charity and that would bring in even more new people
that was tied to that charity. There were times we had over a
thousand people come to our tourneys.
A lot of the people that would come to our tournaments we're first
time viewers of Jai-alai and that would lead many new fans to
the sports, and that is the domino effect.
