Very interesting

I have brought up the subject of the selectors a few times over the years, but no one seems to find the topic interesting. For me, there are 2 immediate issues:

A - Do their selections have any merit at all? Are they at least putting a dent in the takeout?

B - How do their picks affect the betting? How much can you expect your payout to be squished when you make the same selection as them. ( consensus: 2 out of 3 or better)

After the last handicapping contest, I posted a question regarding how the selectors would have done. No interest there either, but then I discovered than Dania had been archiving their PDF program pages for some time, so technically the information was available.

So it was just a matter of downloading all the pdf program pages, running them thru a pdf to text converter, dealing with conversion artifacts / anomalies, grabbing the selector's picks, putting them into a database, and then analyzing the crap out of them.

So yeah, I know how the Babe, Jimmy, and Jose would have done in the Summer Sizzler. As well as almost 2 years worth of picks. If you are interested I can dig out the data and post something tomorrow.
