I haven't been really posting in a while....but I do want to
comment here..
This is going a bit too far... People not wanting to attend the
Citrus due to what may or may not be happening? Really? So if
there's any chance that they may keep jaialai going a little longer...you
are going to show a lack of support to the place? How is that
going to contribute anything positive towards keeping jaialai
going?
If what is proposed IS going to happen...it is sad. However, until
its done...it is still a rumor. Why not enjoy what could possibly
be the last Citrus to attend? I know I am spending lots of money
to travel down from CT to see it, like I have for years. It makes
me sad to see that longtime fans, who actually live in FL, are
not going to attend. You are only hurting yourselves, missing
out on the jaialai action. Sure, Orlando will lose some handle
by you guys not betting, but if what is said is true, does that
even matter?
Either attend the tournament to show support to the place, OR
attend the tournament for selfish reasons (LIKE ME) to see the
best players in the world. Well, some of them, lol.
From what I've read, everything is heresay. And even if it isn't,
while it is a sad end to OJA, I would still enjoy its last tournament,
as I did the last World Series of Jaialai at Milford, in 2001.
We really don't need to be complaining and do furthur damage to
the sport, as its on its last legs and has been on life support
for some time. The more fans leave the game, the sooner it will
happen and forget not having OJA, we won't have ANY JA.
Just my opinion, you all can do what you want--but this may be
your last chance to see Goico, Diego, etc battle it out with money
on the line...
