A long long time ago in a faraway place called Hartford there were healthy WPS pools, to the point that it was easy to make money to fuel tri bets. This involved an escalating bet with the 2 to show. A variation of chug-a-lug without a limit, long before you could buy Boolean Logic at the dime store. Things were going south but of course being in denial was easy, the gravy train was slowing down. The first time a NOTIX appeared had to mean there was something wrong with the machine, but then there were more and more and more. Yes, this is part of a slippery slope. Anger and depression ensued. Buddy tried to bargain with the State for slots to no avail. The Notix was a precursor indeed and what followed was something called the 'substitute player' but by then acceptance had arrived.
