There seemed to be some extra enthusiasm when Dania returned after their layoff. I remember, too, in Connecticut's early jai-alai days, the anticipation of the seasonal returns to action.
Do you think that 7-day, year-round jai-alai can lose the spark, e.g., "What the hell, I can go anytime."? And, would shorter seasons bring back that spark?
Or, would longer layoffs give marginal fans too many opportunities to look elsewhere?
