Miami needs to run 150 live performances per year to be eligible for slots. Not that they have plans go add them anytime soon.....but if they sold to someone that buyer is going to want to know that the fronton has followed the rules on slots. At 8 performances per week they could get to 150 in about 5 months. If they were to cut down that is probably what they would go to.....and it is surprising that they already haven't made that move.
I would like to see Boyd buy Miami, refurbish Dania and add slots there, then build a new fronton somewhere in Miami and add slots there too. They could run 5-6 months at each fronton with a single roster that would be very strong. Only bad part is some player jobs gone, but the ones who stayed have a good thing going if slot $ comes in and boosts player prize money. Boyd could afford to do that and keep a large sized roster too.
