really don't think the Miami dilemma can be solved with a profitable ending, they are sandwiched in the middle of MagicCityCasino.Com which is doing great, as they have a multi entertainment facility.(boxing,concerts etc). To the north is Hialeah Race Track which is getting ready to build a casino,they have the land, plenty of parking and the owner has plenty of cash and I don't see any problem with getting investors. From what I have heard Hialeah in January tore down the grandstand seats which have been there since 1926 and have been remodeling the last couple of years.
Miami probably needs to stay open as much as possible as they need the cash flow.I remember reading that they sold their summer permit to Flagler Dog Track (MagicCity Casino) and I think it said they must operate in the summer, plus the winter wouldn't be the time to close.
In the Northern Star Magazine April edition,I see a full page ad for Fort Pierce that reads, FULL CARD Simulcasting, which they don't have, you can just bet Dogs. A full page ad for Miami advertises Jai-Alai, Domino's and POKER,which someone posted here that the Poker Room is closed!!!
Back in January 2011 when I was down at the fronton, the chatter was that the deal was just about closed and things would start to happen immediately (remodeling) I did notice some of the seats were recovered in the middle of the fronton. The back seats that have been there forever were left undone which makes me think they have other ideas for that section. The bottom line as far as I know NO deal has been completed,and things look very dim right now.
