Football, Baseball, and Basketball are all called 'games'.
Hockey, Soccer, and Boxing are all called 'matches'.
Jai-Alai is called a 'performance'. Do you see the difference? There must be a reason for that. I'm sure many years ago, the 'powers that be' decreed that this was to some degree a sport of gentlemen. (Notice the white pants, sneakers, etc.) Therefore an evening at the fronton should be treated a little more respectfully then the aformentioned sports.
Granted I have yelled 'overserve', 'are you kidding me', and 'come on', but in the 'theatre' (performance) like setting that Jai Alai takes place in, I feel it's classless to curse.
Now, catch me at Aqueduct in February after a bad ride by Dominguez, and my tenor may change somewhat, :)
