Obviously, one is not enough and thirty is too many, but how do you choose? Let's consider:

Player wear and tear
Bettors' budgets
Audience attention span
Late nights
Conflicting events

Any other factors?

Give separate answers for matinee/evening and weekday/weekend, if you like.
