Craig -- The example you give of a team staying on after losing has many examples because you are dealing with a win point first then a place\show playoff scenario next.
There are many instances when a team trying to stop a game point is going to be involved in a playoff if they lose.
My statement was based on the team staying on the court and still playing for the same goal(place or show).
In any case I understand why the playoff is set up this way -- to end it at as quickly as possible, my point is that is really not fair.
