Now, after you get done ROFL, please consider this a semi-serious question.
I ask, because a small subset of fans call it a 'sissy' shot, as in "No real man would do something like that." But, there's no arguing that it works, at least if thrown right. Throw it badly, though, and you'll get a very embarrasing plop on the pad or, maybe worse, an easy setup for your opponent. Either way, it's usually a rally-ender.
I think the difficulties of disguising it and throwing it correctly (i.e., safely) make it one of the most interesting shots in the bag.
