At first I thought they were going with the dime super, because
they wanted to attract more people into wagering the superfecta.
But, then I though to myself, well, Dania effectively already
DID just that, when they begain going with a super superfecta.
When it carries over just once, the increase in pool money into
the next superfecta is definitely a marked difference, and then
when it carries over twice, well, it really kicks much larger.
Sure, we saw two times where the dime super has paid the pool
to someone since Saturday, but no one knew the wager was offered.
Now, everyone does, and they are all on it like flies. The super
superfecta has been killed. It will be a very rare occurrence
to even see one carryover. I mean, you can box SIX numbers for
just $36.00, or wheel a team for just $21.00.
Dania should have just left it alone. The super superfecta was
exciting, if you happened to be around to wager it when it did
carryover, and then hit it. I've never hit one yet, but that's
the point of a superfecta in jai alai. They are SUPPOSED to be
hard to hit, and you know that if you do, even on a crummy pay-off,
you will still win a few hundred dollars. Now, with dime supers,
you'll be lucky to win $50.00.
I think a dime Pik 6 would have been fun. You could pik 3 winners
each game, and it would cost $72.90. That is pricey enough, yet
still hard to hit all 6. And the possibility of someone playing
all 8 teams for all 6 games would be pointless, because it would
cost $26,214, even on a dime. Dania could say, okay, we are starting
a 10 cent Pik 6, minimum total expense per bet of $1.00, on January
1, 2008. On every 1st day of the month (or the 1st day of play)
we will start the pool at $1,000.00 and guarantee a payoff once
a month on a weekend evening. If someone hits the Pik 6 before
a force pay-out, we will not seed the pool with the $1,000.00,
but we will still force pay out on the last day of the month,
or whatever day of play is closest to the last day of the month.
