Based on 20,198 Dania trifectas over three years, you would have made the most money playing 6-5-8 every time. It hit 24 times over three years for big payouts.

Only seven tri's made money using the median payout in the expected value calculation (i.e., EV = prob of the tri X estimated payout); only 22 made money using the mean payout in the calculation.

This assumes that your betting 6-5-8 wouldn't have significantly reduced the payout (a bad assumption.)

Of course, the most frequent tri was 2-4-1, but you would have lost money playing it.
