Bennett, I like Key West and have often thought about it, only
that property rates there must be astronomical. What about hurricanes?
You would probably need to invest substantially more capital for
construction costs considering the potential for damage. But yes,
the vacation market is there, and the linkage with resto/bars
makes a lot of sense. If you could build it strong, Key West is
probably the best spot in FL left.
I kinda like the idea of Vegas. What if parimutuel wagering was
put in place at a locale, there (sorry Bada, I don't think you
can handicap players)? You would need to have the best of the
best, as even the early gamers would have to be top drawer.
Millions of tourists each year. All there to gamble and enjoy
a show. All of this located in a gaming friendly state (unlike
our boy Jeb).
They are trying to put up new hotels/casinos as fast as they can,
wouldn't Vegas be a prime candidate for a fronton?
