Sadly, it is half empty. The #1 reason being that young folks
aren't taking up this sport anywhere. So many of the talented
Spanish and French kids get homesick or fall in love with someone
back home and leave.
This leaves us with a diminishing and diluted talent pool. Of
particular concern is that you haven't recently seen "next
generation" players debut like we did so much in the 90's
(Borja, Aymar, Gorrono, Lecue, Onanindia, Echaburu...do I need
to go on?)
All told, I think jai alai is going to be around for quite a while.
Miami make 100 years? Doubtful, but who knows? Most of the folks
here know my skepticism about Texas, but if you told me 5 years
ago that a fronton would operate in a no-mans land part of Florida,
I never would have believed that either.
