8/a/a may be more safe, yes but more foolish, double yes. What I have picked up thru the years is that if you bet scared and bet something because you are afraid "what if that comes out and I don't have it" then you are a fool. Too many people box, for only 1 reason and one reason only, "what if it comes out the other way".. and you know if it comes out the "other way" it will pay big because it rarely comes out that "other way".

If you play 8/a/a every day for the hell of it. you get bad combo's like 8-7-6, 8-6-7, 8-7-1, 8-7-2, 8-7-5, 8-5-6, 8-4-5, 8-3-4, 8-2-1, 8-1-2. There are more but here are 10 off the top of my head. So lets say $1 bet. Extra cost of these combos would be $10 a game times 13 games. $130 a day times 7 days a week = $910 a week. times that by 52 weeks a year is over $47,000 played on those combos.. Good luck.

Gambling handicapping takes work and time. A bet that is all/all is really a lazy persons bet and taking handicapping to a half day at work. You basically are laying $42 to win instead of realizing you probably only need to lay $32 to win. take the extra $10 or so (whatever you throw out) and bet that in an exacta or bank it or bet 10 straight tri combos. In the long run, you make out. But then again, if you are someone who may cry or sulk or just throw up if the combo came out that you didn't play then all/all away.. More money in the pool to be passed out.
