(Part 1 of 2)
OK, what really happens here? Here's Dania's official description:
If no one correctly picks all the superfecta numbers, in order, there is now a consolation payout of 25% to those selecting the most correct numbers in the Superfecta. 75% of the pool is carried over to the next Superfecta game. (The carryover amount and the superfecta pool are combined on the next game) If someone then picks all four numbers----they win both, if not 25% of the pool is paid out, the carryover and 75% of the pool are added together for the next Superfecta.
Any carryover money going into the last Superfecta must be paid out!
Clearly, this is a different animal, as pari-mutuel betting goes. Some questions come to mind:
How often do these carryovers happen?
How big does the jackpot get?
Does betting increase/change as the pot grows sweeter?
What's so special about about Game 12?
Thanks to Bada-Bing for this idea
