I thought the old Hartford vs Milford format was the best. Three teams from each fronton playing gualifying games of ten points,with single point scoring. After two weekends, or a number of single nights, I can't remember which, of qualifying rounds, the highest scoring team from each fronton played a partido. Those six team games with single point scoring could not be beat. With that said, last weekends tournament at Dania was very enjoyable. The only thing missing was a partido at the end. I thought all the players did well, with the most enjoyable result being the excellent play of Lejarde and Wayne. However, I must admit to being partial to one of my old Milford favorites. You can't beat staying at Motel 6, only a five minute walk to jai alai and $39 a night. And, they left the light on for me when I staggered back in the wee hours on Sunday morning. I can't wait to do it again for the next tournament.
