From a position of sublime ignorance, the following observations:
When you, of necessity, cater to the gambling class (whatever
that is defined as), to the exclusion of the now popular "family",
you lose a LOT of audience. Since the Frontons won't let children
in because the whole thing revolves around gamblers, and allow
conduct among those gamblers that few discerning parents would
enjoy their offspring wittnessing, they are forced to make the
play a routine because the audience is mainly concerned with how
much they are winning or losing and that's it. The players become
mere pinballs. This can end only one way unless something is done.
