As many of you may have observed, I have come on board to announce Jai Alai at Dania on a limited basis. And I wholeheatedly agree with your comments. The "unforced error" catch-and-throw jai alai is as confounding and aggravating to me as it must be to all of you. I am a dedicated fan of Jai Alai for over 30 years, and came to Dania from Tampa Jai-Alai (R.I.P.). And you're correct "point to the 7" just doesn't get it done. The excitement, crescendo and pace of Jai-Alai is not a lost art...and is alive and well in my heart (which I HAVE NOT lost regardless of the general downward spiral of interest in Jai Alai by the general public). My performances are limited as I have a business to run, but I promise all of you that I will continue to deliver, to the best of my ability, the type of announcing that you all deserve to hear when watching Jai Alai. It is most difficult, as you might imagine, to make a mundane point sound exciting. But on those occasions when the point is HOT, and the Jai Alai is of great calibre, I will do my very best to give you the play-by-play with all I've got. I take the pronunciation of player's names, the proper name of the catches and shots, and the pace of the point very seriously. WE are the few, and dedicated hard-core fans of the game!
