Bridgeport had 'em for a while . Last game of the night - feature
doubles. After a while, they only did it on Saturday nights. Then,
they stopped.
What a treat it was. Both the players and fans waited for it.
The game was hotly contested and seemingly endless, to our great
delight. Of course, the normal rotational bias was gone, with
another one in its place. I don't think the public (JP, that is)
ever really caught on to the differences, 'cause the printed trifecta
stats were always merged.
I really miss this format. You still see one every now and then
on special-event days or in tournaments (NAJF comes to mind).
It could be re-implemented easily - no change to tote systems.
