Re(2): #21 - What is a 'fix', anyway?

You mentioned something that has long been one of my arguments as to the difficulty of fixing a game of jai-alai. While it's easy enough for a player to drop a ball, or throw a shot out of play on purpose, how can you be sure that the players who you want to do well won't make mistakes?

Let's say you have three friends in posts 1, 4 and 7, and they're going to dump the game so you can box 23568. Post 1 starts the game by overserving. Post 2 then beats post 3, but damn it he overserves to the 4. The 4 then loses to the 5, who proceeds to run the game, and it's a 524, and you lose. Which, of course, serves you right for trying in the first place!
