Gotta take issue with your statement that bad doubles players are also bad singles players. Not always. The guy who comes to mind is Miguel at Dania. His numbers:

Doubles: .082 win, .346 in the money
Singles: .179 win, .500 in the money

I wonder if he'd do better as a frontcourter.
