In terms of real dollars, I believe that
jai-alai revenues are definitely decreasing.
There are more and more outlets competing for the gambling dollar
each year.
For example, I like to play internet
poker. The takeout is less than 5% and
the games are profitable.
Jai-alai will always be my first love
as far as sports is concerned. But it
is too damn hard to make a profit at it.
The takeouts see to that.
Betting exchanges such as EHorse now allow bettors to set their
own odds
and the commissions are between 5% and 2% depending on volume
of bets.
Jai-alai will never be included on these
exchanges.
They are offshore and money wagered does
not flow into the wagering pools.
These pools are for win betting only.
