Was Jose Ramon Areitio a frontcourter, or backcourter?
Jose Ramon Aretio throwing the pelota at 188, it also mentions him having thrown an uncovered pelota at 233 mph
* An uncoverd pelota will pick up speed after hitting the front wall.
* A golf ball pick up speed after hitting the front wall.
* A rubber super ball will pick up speed after hitting the front wall.
* A baseball will slow down after hitting the front wall.
The pelota is designed for the game of jai alai (no kidding right) it was made not to slow down or speed up, just right for a true bounce, and a consistant fluid game,it just so happens some pelotas are faster than others, thats why they are always checked by the receiving players, so it's possible for a very lively pelota to pick up speed after hitting a fresh granite front wall w/ no more than one coat of green paint.
