Bennett, Im sure you are disciplined enough to withdraw your
initial money used for the promo but there are many who are not.
It seems Dania is preying on the fact many will just let that
money ride and not withdraw it. If all the casinos in the area
are doing it not much can be said but if Dania is the only casino
in S. Fl. doing it that way then they stand out in a greedy sort
of way.
Some years ago one of the casinos in Atlantic City routinely gave
out casino chips in lieu of cash when someone used the ATM in
the casino lobby. One customer won a lawsuit against that casino
saying he was obligated to gamble since he was given casino chips
and not cash from the ATM. To me its not exactly the same but
falls along the same lines as what Dania is doing with the promo.
Dania and Miami have something no other casino in the area can
offer. Maybe a little marketing and draw people in to jai alai
and if things are done right and the casino offers what the customer
wants then those tactics are not necessary.
