Re(3): players thru the years...and today...

Honestly you had to see it to understand it. Churruca not only anticipated exactly where the ball going but could catch anything he could get his cesta on and always kepy his opponent off balance. You just could not get the ball by him and if you did he would dig a rebote one inch from the floor. Never a bad day days, years without a real slump or loss of focus. I do wish there was some video.

Boli not only also had incredible court sense, but would control a point by keeping his oponents on the defensive until he was positioned for the kill and he so rarely missed the kill. He was, like Inclan, the ultimate finisher who would acually elevate his game at the finish. If you look at a juaristi, Mendi ...all of the other second tier greats, they were vulnerable to a risk taking oponent throwing a shot to spoil their win. Boli, Cachin, Churruca, Chimela, Ondarres would find a way to finish and their opponent never gained court position to spoil their victory. He also had excellent power but only used when needed. A complete player and the best of the era.

Goico is, without question, the best of his. I would bet that Boli in his prime would give Goico fits becasue Boli would never give him the chance to use his weapons.

early 80s will never be matched:
