I've had many knocks by the pelota, I even hit myself once when taking a serve on the left I wanted to throw a split placement but missed the side wall hitting me in the knee cap. I was also hit in the knee off a serve from Billy. It happened after his injury when he was struck in the head in Miami. I was only 15 and he didn't even ask if I was okay. Also hit in my ear leaving me with a swollen ear double the normal size and not able to hear for about a month, I felt lucky when my hearing came back I thought it wasn't ever gonna. Also hit myself in the ankle not only by the pelota but also the cesta tip. This happen the day I was asked if I wanted to play pro for the first time. I was so excited I went out to practice and tried to hotdog by throwing in between my legs. I had 3 weeks until my debut. I cried thinking I ruined my chance to sign my first contract. The worst injury was in 2008 when I had the over all wins by 6 with one week left in the season and also second place for both the doubles and singles championship, I tore my acl and meniscus and had a deep bone bruise. I played two more seasons after but retired realizing its just not worth damaging my body for a few thousand dollars a month. No regrets but damn this game is brutal.
