Thanks, Tiger. I just re-read everyone's posts, and what was cool
about them was how they all branched off into other topics, covering
a myriad of areas.
The three major differences 30+ years ago, going by consensus,
were :
1-Less ( or no ) holding.
2-Larger ( obviously ) crowds. But more importantly, both
fans and players alike, treated it in like a true event, and dressed
for it!
3-Less cortadas/dejadas ( kill shots ), and more players appreciating
the ART of having that pelota hum along the side wall.
It must've been nice...
