I went to BPT jai-alai my first time when I was about 16 or 17 and since I had already been betting on horses for awhile I liked the betting aspect of jai-alai, but also became curious about playing the game. My brother got me a Pardo cesta and I started to practice outside with a rubber ball. It was in Stratford CT under an I-95 overpass. I went to Miford amateur a year or so later and I remember the first time I stepped on the 'pelota' court and was amazed at how much different it looked than when you view a game from the audience (and this wasn't even a pro-size court).
