What are you using the 'average payoff' to do? The 'average
payoff' would only
be useful for a given quinella or trifecta combination since each
has a different
probability of occurring. Also the median would be a much better
statistical 'average'
to use since payoffs are significantly impacted by 'outliers'. Also
the credibility
of the sample data must be statically significant.
