There is a difference in allowing the cut serve in doubles rather then singles. You don't have the extra player to make things more interesting in singles. There are some unique maybe even cheesy shots in jai-alai but without them the game would just be a long boring volley for point. The cut serve, dejada and slow death (lol) are all kill shots that make the game interesting and more fun to watch.
