I'd take Elorza over most of those guys in singles for sure!
I only saw Atain play when he visited Milford and he was flawless!
I've never seen Lopez, but I think Elorza would do well against
those BPT backs in singles.
He was like maybe 6' 4" thin and strong with great ability
to move and he had kill shots....kind of perfect for singles.
I think those abilities make him one of the best backcourt singles
guys ever.
My favorite singles guy was Lecube, esp. if in post #1. He wasn't
the best, but he sure could serve aces when 'ON'! Churruca
is one of very few players that would rebote a serve seeing he
wasn't going to get it any other way....nobody better than him
at positioning and court sense.
It might be a weakish return from Churruca in that singles game
when Lecube essentially aces him, but I'd rather have that than
a guy back up to the wall, jump and the pelota is a foot over
his cesta. If the serve is to the outside a bit, one can even
make a nice backhand rebote carom winner out if it.
Damn, I miss Jai Alai!
