A few years before Lance turned pro he made a request to an organization similar to 'Make A Wish' which pairs athletes with teens. Somehow they accepted the request and Lance was allowed to play jai alai with Joey, who was his idol at the time. Naturally, as a pro Lance gave an all out effort when teamed with Joey.
