At the time, I was Jimmy at the bottom of the program.
That's sounds like 'The Dread Pirate Roberts', where
the character of 'Jimmy' continues on, played by a variety
of different 'analysts'.
Maybe you can share some information on that subject.
For example, whenever the subject of the selectors has come up
here, the universal attitude seems to be that their picks don't
merit any consideration at all. But I have always believed that
an analysis was required. The problem, however, is that online
the picks only appear in the PDF programs pages, which means either
save them religiously or always extract the picks by hand as you
go. That tedious and a lot of effort for possibly nothing, so
I never tracked more than a week at a time, which of course is
inconclusive.
But I don't automatically assume the selectors opinions are worthless.
In fact, I have wondered if their strong consensus (eg 2 wins
and P or S) has handicapping value.
OTOH, if their consensus doesn't pan out well, but does depress
the odds, then we have a way of predicting underlays well before
game time.
So... do you have any record of how 'Jimmy' fared, or general
thoughts on selectors at Dania or Miami?
