Hey BB BUDS, your TV exposure idea was attempted by Ocala Jai-alai in the early 90s. Each week, Shane Best, the Public Relations Director had a 30 minute show on the local TV channel. He would show the best point/game of the week and also an interview with a different player each week. I watched every show and even recorded them. I don't have the tapes anymore but I wish I did because the shows were actually quite good. The idea of exposing a younger generation to the sport should have worked well in Gainesville because of all of the young college students in the area. Unfortunately, I do remember something being wrong with the time slot for the show though. I can't remember if it was in a late time slot or if it was in a competitive time slot but I do remember thinking that it wasn't a very good one. Anyway, I was young and I really enjoyed the shows. The interviews were my favorite part. Shane Best was a really nice guy who loved the sport so his enthusiasm always came across in everything he did for the fronton. Dang it, where did you go Shane Best?
