Sandra...to me, none of the announcers at Miami are paying
attention. The one announcer who just says "point 2, next
up in the white shirt is post 3." The other announcer, "ball
is tipped, point 2." (In reality, Lejardi just threw a remate
winner, no player was within 10 feet of the ball, so it was impossible
to tip it!) The third announcer (with the accent) actually does
a really good job. Clearly he's into it, pays attention, and makes
some play by play calls, but he seldom announces. The other two,
it's clear, they are on their cell phones, texting, hanging out
with others in the booth, watching tv, or whatever. Today, during
one game, the announcer called all the players for about 6 straight
points by the wrong name. He was a point behind, and was looking
at the post 4 player, when post 3 was on deck. This makes, what?
15 straight years of shitty announcing at Miami? Why won't management
get off their lazy asses and do something? Then again, it's all
about the slot parlor, right now.
Also, it's clear to me that Miami will not allow simulcast wagering
online, because that would mean the pools would have to be displayed,
for example, on Link2tote, and Miami management doesn't want anyone
to really see how well they are really doing with the jai alai.
It's not as bad as they'd like us to think! Another reason they
stopped provided daily handles.
