What stats should we keep "The Daily Jai Alai Form"

Jai Alai needs to look at different terminology and information that can help move the Sport to the next level, statistics that are more from the aspect of sport than just handicapping. Don't get me wrong, it is very important to have handicapping statistics also, but to put the sport on the map we must also relate to younger fans that are not going to be able to wager. These people are future players and fans who will love the sport from another angle, that of just the sport.

Some statistics that might be kept could be who wins game point, who beats someone at game point to keep the game going. All this information could be kept from both the receiver and server vantage. This could be called a 'money point or pressure point'. The statistics that are being kept now do not do the sport justice anymore. It gets back to moving the sport forward and changing some things with the times. How about head to head stats in singles and doubles, again as a receiver and server. Another interesting Statistic could be percentage of points won, both double points and single points. It could be like baseball where they know a guy's average at every pitch count; with runners on base, in the day time, on turf on grass....it's endless. Let's get an idea of what might be the most important stats to keep.

With computers these days, can it be done? As we grow the sport, these ideas need to be investigated.

It is our hope that in the future we can start to think this way and keep this type of information.

Statistics as the ones that Tiger are talking about are hard to keep as they must be done by hand. This can mean there are errors, but to say that every statistic that is kept by a statistician is totally 100% accurate might be a bit of a stretch. Doesn't mean the information is not important, just need to have someone do it and it should be unilateral throughout the Jai Alai World.
