I think it's only right that the existing pari-mutels get the chance to have open gambling. Florida's main industry after all is tourism and the tourists seem to want it.

Florida with it's climate, beaches, pari-mutuels etc should never have created a deficit in there budget. They have to open everything up to slove the problem.

In my opinion it's inevitable they will do exactly that,(open gambling) and I think the new owners of Orlando think they will also.

My guess is Miami would just sell the license for Tampa if they couldn't raise enough money to build,if things do open up it would be worth a small fortune.

I think the requirement of 150 performances to have slots etc should stay in effect to keep under control just how many new casino's will open up. Dade County where traffic is already extremely congested in season don't need anymore casino's and neither does Broward County.
