Late 1987 at Ocala. Just me and my dad that first time. I was 13 years old, just short of my 14th birthday. Don't know of any teenage girl who wouldn't immediately fall in love with a sport in which handsome foreign men sported crisp white pants and where up on this massive court doing all kinds of fancy and crazy things to take out their opponents. The cestas seemed like they were a part of the man. The fronton was huge, CLEAN, and packed with people. The people where dressed up and having a good time. They were excited and really into the action on the court. The speed of the sport was alluring. The electricity in the air was contagious. Who wouldn't get hooked immediately!
